I thought that working in the corporate sector would fulfill me, which it did for a short while but the workload, the long hours and the stress became too much. The anxiety of trying to keep up started to affect my health in ways I didn't even know was imaginable. My body could no longer keep up. It started to break down, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
After I left the corporate sector, I dabbled in some other professions. Nothing seemed to satisfy me so I went back to the fitness industry and started my own business.
Now in my second decade of working in fitness, I realized that I was only addressing the physical needs of my health. I was extremely fit but not healthy.
I ran marathons, I taught various classes, I cycled, I hiked, I played sports, and meanwhile, my health was deteriorating.
The food changes helped a little, but I was still experiencing a lot of pain. Pain I never spoke about it. It was embarasing. Eating out was difficult. Socializing with friends wasn't easy as this diagnosis took over my life.
I then started taking some nutritional courses and eventually became a
Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.).
I completely changed my eating habits. The IBS completely went away.
Although eating the right food addressed my IBS and other illnesses, I still felt something was missing.
I was eating and moving my body well.
What else could there be?
After working with many different clients, I realized what I saw in myself, I was seeing in others. They were eating healthy, moving their bodies, but they still struggled with different aspects of their health.
STRESS!!!
Stress comes in many forms. For some it's job related, for others it's relationships, or simply just dealing with life and trying to figure it out.
I learned and brought in some new tools to not only help myself but help others who are struggling with stress, anxiety, and struggling to find purpose.
HERE'S WHAT I FOUND
Soul coaching
which is a combination of emotional and energy awareness, guided and interactive meditation, dialogue, and spiritual guidance, allows for a deeper insight in to discovering how certain parts of us no longer serve us. This opens up for individuals to find out who their
true authentic self is. Once we are aligned with who we are truly meant to be, life seems to come easier no matter what is thrown our way.
Breathwork
is more than just the exercise of breathing correctly. It’s an ancient practice that is about the intentional manipulation of the breath. Breathwork can regulate our metabolism, digestion, our mood, and so much more.
Breathwork can provide quick relief from stress, help manage anxiety, and increase energy levels.
I incorporated these two practices along with guided meditation to help others as well as myself. Once I turned inward and focused on what no longer served me, everything seemed to make sense.
THINGS GOT MUCH CLEARER!
I am now a women who focuses on all aspects of my well-being. I have taken on a holistic approach to my health that focuses on prevention in all aspects of my life.
Holistic health is proactive and preventative. It acknowledges the connection between the mind, body and soul. Living as a whole person.
My

is back!
